Peter Dawes DipPFS

Independent Financial Adviser

peter@carterdawes.com

I have worked in the Financial Services sector for 17 years starting my career with the Prudential where after qualifying, I moved on to work for Barclays Bank for 10 years. I then worked for Edward Jones before joining CarterDawes in 2010. The differing roles have all been in the local area; Ipswich, Woodbridge and Felixstowe and have enabled me to meet and grow relationships with a wide variety of clients and businesses including a large number of fellow professionals such as solicitors and accountants.

I have achieved Diploma status well ahead of the FSA deadline as I feel that this is a vital step in helping me to fully understand the more complex needs of clients in an ever changing financial environment.

Whether it be making the most of savings in the current low interest rate climate, helping plan for retirement, dealing with clients at sensitive times where a divorce is occurring and financial statements or perhaps pension sharing orders are required or even at difficult times where families have lost a loved one and need assistance to deal with paperwork, I always strive to provide a personal touch and ensure that I fully understand the client’s needs.

At the heart of everything I do is my belief that ‘Treating Customers Fairly’ is not only the right way to help clients but the only way.

When not working at CarterDawes, I am closely involved with the local Chamber of Commerce and have just completed a 3 year term as Chairman of the Felixstowe branch. I enjoy keeping fit and run 2 to 3 times a week and have recently taken part in the Felixstowe Rotary charity fun run. I live in Ipswich with my wife and as my two sons have flown the nest, this leaves me time to follow my other passion in life ’Ipswich Town.’

I look forward to having the opportunity to meet and work with you.
